The final decision for heading east for me was the choices we were given.

I'd begun looking at the US elections as being given the choice of the
least fucked-up of the two most fucked-up in the country. Hell I once
voted for a cowboy attitude and got one of the most repressive regimes
ever didn't make that mistake the second time.

I go for the Libertarian Bunch and have voted that way in the last few
elections. We (now you) recently been governed by the best leaders that
money could buy, the thirty second spot has killed the USofA. But I
didn't leave anything behind in the US, except a few graves and didn't
take many flowers there. They wont miss me. Not that I think it'll be
better here, it's cheeper. I'm old if I get ten more before I cork off,
I'll die happy.

Well ... I figure to have about (at least) two or three thousand more
years before I'm ready to kick the bucket. Three or four billion
years would be more like it though. ;-}

However, I keep expecting that shattering *BANG* as they break in the
door here ... Not that I wouldn't open it peacefully; but you know the
attitude of some LEA to "dangerous criminals" like me ... Who never
hurt a soul in his life; but DO write these dangerous stories and
(worse yet) won't knuckle under to the religious theocrats. ;-{

Ah well ... Maybe I'll just try to outlive the bastards.

I was going to argue with you in the other group, but decided not to argue.
It doesn't seem like anything could be said that will ease your anxiety.

The only thing that would, is if Bush showed a lick of sense.
So far, after the election, it doesn't look good.
