The wife is down at the hospital ... again. ;-{
She was feeling depressed; and wanted to lie down on the bed ... you know how it
is when you feel miserable. Not much I could do to help there; except let her
know I cared.
Only ... When lying face-down on the bed, she got stomach-pains. At first, from
the description, I thought it might be ulcer, acid-reflux, or something like
that; so I had her take an ant-acid.
No change.
She got worse; and finally I took her down to the local Urgent Care center.
After interviewing and hearing her history, they took an EKG, an X-ray, some
blood-tests, and a urine-sample (since I mentioned she was susceptible to
urinary infections).
The EKG turned out positive; with ischemic rhythms in her heart ... and the
urine-sample also tested positive with white-cells and some signs of blood, for
yet another urinary infection as well. They took her down to the ER in an
ambulance about 15 minutes ago.
I'm here at home, gathering up miscellaneous things she'll want at the hospital
(and things *I* will want while down there with her) and leaving a note for the
kid.
The one hopeful sign for the day was that her shrink said the medication she was
on *might* be responsible for her anxiety ... and changed it to something else
that will hopefully help her polar disorder without causing anxiety attacks as
well. Hopefully.
Damn. Every medication has side-effects. All too rarely those side-effects are
the type one wants.
Not that the heart-problems or the urinary-infection were caused by the
medication; but neither of those two problems exactly helps when you're already
feeling miserable.
Though ... She *did* brighten up a bit when they found both problems.
It *helps* to know they found something wrong that they can treat.
True misery is feeling bad ... and nobody having the slightest idea of what is
wrong or what can be done about it.
Thanks. I'm off to the ER to see how they're doing with the wife.
Wish her (and me) luck.
It (the wishing) might not do all that much; but knowing there are others
pulling for her makes ME feel better. (And SHE *does* appreciate prayers on her
behalf.)
So, thanks in-advance.
I might be missing for a day or so, and not see all replies.
